Stem Cell Factor (SCF-Fc (LALA mutant))

Stem cell factor, also known as steel factor, Kit Ligand or mast cell growth factor is a cytokine that binds to the  c-Kit receptor (CD117). SCF has a key role in early haematopoiesis promoting the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of HSCs and progenitor cells. SCF is also a primary growth and activation factor for mast cells. It plays an important role in pigmentation, melanogenesis and spermatogenesis. Soluble and transmembrane SCF is produced by fibroblasts and endothelial cells.

Rhesus macaque SCF is 99% identical to human SCF. rMamu SCF (293 aa) is produced as Fc fusion protein in 293FS cells as SCF-IgG2-Fc (LALA mutant). The protein is purified on protein A column, and purity is determined by SDS-PAGE.

Bioactivity of each batch is tested by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of Mo7e cell line. The specific activity is 3.7×104 U/mg calibrated against human SCF standard.
